MARTELL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES 2ND ANNUAL MARTELL IN MIAMI CHARITY LUNCHEON HONORING JESÚS LÓPEZ AND EDWARD WALSON EMILIO ESTEFAN TO PRESENT AWARDS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NATPE Miami, Florida – (December 26, 2017) – The T.J. Martell Foundation for Cancer Research has announced Martell in Miami charity luncheon to be held January 18, 2018 at Eden Roc’s Pompeii Ballroom in Miami Beach, Florida. For the second year in a row, the Foundation will partner with NATPE for this exclusive luncheon fundraiser to benefit “Music’s Promise for a Cure.” Martell in Miami will honor Edward Walson, Owner of The Royal Blues Hotel and Jesús López, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula.  (Jesús López-Spirit of Music Award & Edward Walson-Humanitarian Award). Grammy Award winning musician, producer and Latin music business icon,  Emilio Estefan will present the awards to the honorees. WSVN anchor Belkys Nerey will host the highly anticipated event.  Latin recording artists David Bisbal and Sebastián Yatra will be performing. Jesús López, who heads Universal Music’s Latin operations worldwide and landed at No. 80 on Billboard’s Power 100 list this year. He had a triumphant 2017 in which Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s hit “Despacito” became the longest running No.1 on the Hot 100 list and most streamed song of all time. Under Lopez’s direction, Universal Music Latin has become the total market-share leader in the United States. Edward Walson is the owner of Service Electric Broadband Cable TV of New Jersey, an Emmy Award winning television producer and owner of the Royal Blues Hotel in Deerfield, Florida. Walson is the son of the man credited with inventing the cable television industry. He is an active Hollywood producer of independent films with numerous credits to his name as well as the Broadway musical, “Bullets Over Broadway,” based on Woody Allen’s film of the same name.
