(photo above left: Elvis Presley’s last purchased motorcycle)   For this special auction, the Kruse team has assembled an astounding collection—with many pieces never before sold at auction—capturing unforgettable entertainment icons and moments. Indeed, who could forget the dramatic scene of Kate Winslet on the sinking deck of the Titanic wearing a pink wool and silk, full length coat that the auction house is offering at the August mega-event. The screen-worn coat, once displayed at WaltDisney World in Orlando, comes with a certificate of authenticity from Twentieth-Century Fox. A life vest from the movie will also be up for grabs.  ( photo right: Kate Winslet Titanic Coat)   Hollywood’s rebels never go out of style. James Dean died in a car crash only weeks after finishing the 1956 epic drama “Giant.” Kruse GWS Auctions will accept bids on a first edition copy of the Edna Ferber book “Giant,” autographed by the entire cast and crew, including Dean. Auto racing and Steve McQueen are virtually synonymous and his Gulf racing jacket from the 1971 film “Le Mans,” along with one of his blue western-style shirts will be on the auction block.   Other movie memorabilia includes seven screen-worn costumes from the major characters in 1979’s “Star Trek: The Motion Picture,” also previously displayed at WaltDisney World, and a complete set of army fatigues belonging to “Forrest,” “Bubba” and Lieutenant Dan Taylor from “Forrest Gump.” This is the first time a full set of the film’s uniforms will be up for auction. (photo left; Elvis Presley’s Sheepskin jacket) Building on a strong reputation for selling unique Elvis Presley memorab ilia, Kruse GWS Auctions continues to offeritems fromthe King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Highlighting this collection is the incredible hot rod dubbed the “Elvis Roadster,” which Presley drove in his first starring role in the film “Loving You.” Along with the one-of-a kind-car, up for auction are his personal white 1973 Lincoln Continental stretch limousine; the last motorcycle he ever purchased, a 1976 Harley Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide; and a Circle G Ranch GMC pickup truck; as well as other, never before seen Presley memorabilia. (photo right: Jerry Lee Lewis’ Grand Ole Opry jacket)   The event will also feature a vehicle owned by another music superstar, Garth Brooks. On the auction block is his 45-foot long Prevost XL 1993 Tour Bus with a copy of the Vehicle Title in Brooks’ name and a photo of him aboard the vehicle. Custom designed for the singer, the model known as the “Entertainer” and considered the Cadillac of buses, logged many miles on the two-year Garth Brooks World Tour, when this talented country western artist’s fame was climbing to new heights. (photo left: Elvis Presley personal medical devices) Fans of rockabilly wild man Jerry Lee Lewis can pick up a floral velveteen jacket owned and worn on stage at his debut appearance at the Grand Ole Opry, and his telephone shaped like a grand piano. According to the family member who’s selling the item, the singer would occasionally use the novelty phone to noodle around with the numbers/notes and wind up accidentally calling people.   Personal possessions from Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide 25 years ago, are increasingly rare. Kruse GWS Auctions will sell the tortured rock star’s Seafirst Bank moneybag, which he left in a parking lot following a Dallas concert. The bag contains an original Kurt Cobain/Courtney Love joint bank account check, Cobain’s own cigarette lighter, a “Danger” cassette in a cardboard box with a drawing by the grunge rocker and his Seafirst Bank money clip. Written on the bag is “Axl Sucks Earth” and the bank’s name crossed out in black sharpie.   Music memorabilia collectors have a chance to own a piece of rock ‘n’ roll history with a microphone from the legendary Sun Records’ recording studio and producer Sam Phillips. Such musical giants as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins used the mic to record some of their greatest hits. (photo left: Judy Garland’s Cartier watch) Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield and Judy Garland left us too soon but remain cherished cultural icons. The August auction contains Monroe’s personally-owned luggage and a collection of costume jewelry, including chandelier earrings, a seven-inch bracelet, silver-tone and gold tone rhinestone necklaces and a set of faux pearls, all acquired through her business manager. Also up for auction is a Cartier watch and other of Judy Garland’s personal jewelry from her third husband Sidney Luft; and several sets of earrings and clothing owned by ‘50s sex symbol Jayne Mansfield.   The Artifacts of Hollywood & Music will include a number of significant cars, trucks and cycles, including the unique “Toys ‘R” Us Geoffreymobile, designed by legendary car customizer George Barris for the company’s founder George Lazarus. The vehicle was created in 1980 as the children's store Toys 'R' Us was becoming a household name, and its mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe an icon.
